The midwife I saw Debbie Williams is a brilliant midwife good at her job and empathic towards patients, I would recommend her to others for sure, however the overall state of antenatal care is definitely suffering due to cuts and it shows, I have been in a situation where a seriously potential issue could have happened during my pregnancy and the services are just not there to help a worried mother to be out when needed, I had to rely on a friend who happens to be a midwife to reassure me but even she isn't in a position to help the way I need, the outcome remains to be seen on the lack of help available yet.
Excellent visit - lovely staff (inc Teeside Uni Student Nurse). No waiting - great location. Definitely recommend to others.
Great re assurance and advised can contact until baby is 28 days old if any concerns
Staff easy to talk to, all questions answered in full, really made to feel at ease and not rushed.
Judy Jenkins my midwife gave excellent care throughout my pregnancy and after delivery. She offered reassurance and help after birth and got me the treatment I needed for my raised blood pressure, she also reassured me when my daughter had mild Jaundice and supported me with breast feeding.
My community midwife diane cole has been fantastic. I find her very friendly, professional and informative. With this being my first pregnancy i feel like i have been able to put my trust in her, and can rely on her if i had any concerns. Shes lovely.
Every midwife i have had contact with inc down at pregnancy assessment unit have all been brilliant aswell. Professional and caring.
However, ive had numerous hospital ward visits cancelled, home visits cancelled and breast feeding workshops cancelled. And nothing re-arranged. The only class i have been successful in attending is a antenatal class in framwellgate moor one sunday morning. i was told it was because one midwife named carol was off sick and therefore they were short staffed. As a this is my first pregnancy i booked onto everything that was offered and was eager to have any home visits/ breastfeeding workshops as i want to breastfeed. But had no additional support to help me prepare.
Apart from the wonderful support from all the midwifes including diane... Ive had no additional support as promised, and im surprised that because one person was off sick... Visits didnt happen, workshops and hospital visits were cancelled. Its been very disappointing.
I feel sorry for the midwives... Its no bad reflection on them. They are BRILLIANT However its very disapointing in regards to co durham and darlington nhs trust. If i have a second pregnancy iam definately going to opt for private antenatal classes, the nhs cannot be relyed on.
I think aqua antenatal is brilliant form of exercise while pregnant and the midwives are always so cheerily and helpful. Going into the water while pregnant is lovely and you don't even realise you are working out because it's so much fun. I'm so glad this is provided for us every Tuesday.
Aqua natal classes are great and good for meeting other pregnant women
parent craft classes were very informative and useful
Midwives I have seen throughout have all been very helpful and give great care
36 week appointment with midwife Judy. Excellent and compassionate care as always. Judy is passionate about her job and makes you feel cared for and at ease.
Absolutely fantastic experience! Catherine and Angela couldn't have done any more and it was lovely to share such a special moment with them! Only thing I would change is that someone sets up the gas and air so it's ready incase you need it before the midwifes arrive.
They both deserve a huge pat on the back for making it so special and to Fiona who has looked after me before and afterwards she is very professional and has a lovely caring manner.
