I can see a big difference(positively) since my last admission. For less requirement with structure. I do not feel that two hot meals a day plus sandwich supper are required. I would prefer a light lunch and evening meal with some option to make a choice within limits. Staff are working hard to make improvements.
Still a work in progress but moving in right direction.Like addition of complementary additions to O.T. timetable.
The care is fine but looking after one another can be improved staff and consistent behavior helps feel comfortable.
It is good that the staff care so much.
They always try their best to help in anyway possible.
Things to improve;
The ways in which staff restrain you.
I had one member of staff who pulled my fingers back, put his foot in front of me sending me and staff flying on the floor. When I begged to stop being so forceful because my hand was hurting he refused. I now have a sprained wrist.
I understand why I was restrained but really don't think that much force was needed.
I love film night but staff sometimes forget.
I was encouraged to use my skills and express my creativity. The staff were brilliant with me tailoring their approach to suit my needs at the time, which was extremely helpful and helped avoid conflict. The only thing I have to say about improvement is that the staff should be able to spend more time out on the ward and less time in the office doing paperwork. I'm pretty sure they trained to do nursing not Admin!.
They kept me safe.
Absolutely nothing.
Great work!!!
I love you all!
G stay safe!
You will, I'm here fir all of you.
All the nurses being very helpful, today Matt was very helpful and he kept me informed of what was going on, he made an appointment for me, which I am very grateful. Thank you.
Hope you all have a merry Xmas and a very happy new 2016.
Kind, patient staff (willing to do anything).
Activities.
Adaptable.
Listen to genuine pleas for a break (facilitated).
Turn lights off at night.
Chairs for medication time.
Staff such as Matt, Mike, Natasha, Jubidah, Charity that treat you as humans and equals and staff such as Loveness, Lovejoy, Wayne that are straight talking and to the point when you need it.
Staff who don't seem to understand mental health so their approach and attitude aren't helpful considering they are care givers. I would suggest a training day with ex patients to improve in certain areas.
I want play station or Xbox game player. I was told that the Xbox controller would be replaced or at least batteries as I was an avid Xbox player on Mannia ward and was told by George there and Dominique that they would help me and facilitate it for me to use the Xbox here, with games.
