Good doctors surgery with some exceptional doctors, however it can be very difficult to get an appointment and not all reception staff helpful, sometimes bordering on rudeness but has improved in recent months. The biggest problem is if you need an emergency appointment and told to ring back at noon, invariably it's impossible to get through.
I called in the morning to make an appointment and they told me there were no appointments left so i should call at 12pm. I called 2 minutes to 12 to be told I needed to wait another minute to be able to make the appointment. I called exactly at 12:00 and it took them 10 minutes to answer the phone. After I eventually made an appointment to see the doctor and he was very helpful.
I have been a patient at West Barnes Surgery for over ten years, and in the last couple of years it has noticeably improved its service.
Convenient appointment times are offered which fit in with working life and in my recent experience waiting times are kept to a minimum.
Reception staff now provide a responsive and helpful service.
Overall the surgery is efficient, user-friendly and flexible, and I thoroughly recommend it. Let's hope it keeps up the good work.
It is not easy to make an appt with this surgery. If you want an appt for the same day you have to call at Midday when they "RELEASE" the appts.
Try calling at midday (if you can that is, you may be driving or working and am unable to ) you will then find the line is engaged, and you are lucky if you get through and actually get an appt.
This is most annoying, if you need an appt you should be able to phone the day before or that morning to make it it instead of the current arrangement.
They need to review this.
