It is not always easy to get an appointment and hasn’t been for a long time. I don’t bother to get a doctors appointment as you can wait a long time and sometimes you need to get in a bit sooner if you are concerned about the problem. It is slightly easier to see a nurse practitioner and they are very experienced and thorough. I have seen [name removed] for years and am more than satisfied with the care he provides.

Suggested improvements
We were a bit disappointed regarding our Covid inoculation. After asking at the surgery we were told to ring 119 and our only options were quite a distance away from Kendal. I went online and booked my husband and myself in at Cartmel surgery which isn’t too far away. I was shocked to discover that my friend who isn’t a patient at our surgery found out they were running a walk in appointment at Maude Street and attended. Why didn’t they let their own patients know about this and it would have saved having to go to Cartmel especially as we are pensioners. We also had our flu jab at the pharmacy adjoining Helme Chase Surgery because we were not informed when they would be done at the surgery. Please try and make things a little easier for patients by keeping them informed and treating their own patients first.
