Although my phone appointment with a physio was cancelled because of illness I was offered a phone appt with my GP & was actually seen the same day as I had an acute injury. I was very thankful.

It was very satisfactory when I discussed my concerns with the receptionist and she realised that an appointment the following week was not really appropriate.
