I phoned at 8am for 4 mornings to listen to the engaged tone or on hold with that dreadful music for over 20 minutes. I was told to use the 111 app which I did, after completing all questions it told me to make an appointment with my GP or visit westmorland General to be seen. On the 4 th morning I actually got an appointment after pleading with the receptionist. Not quite sure where the system has gone wrong but it's a terrible one at that. You used to be able to phone the surgery any time of day and be to be given an appointment within 24/48 hrs. I also received a text message regarding blood test results asking me to make a telephone appointment, the next available appointment was in 4 weeks time! Thankfully I don't have an on going medical problem because I would hate to get appointments at short notice.

Make appointments more available and not just at 8am
