I went to the surgery twice yesterday, first to see [name removed] at Maude Street and then to see Nurse Ingham. Both were really nice, welcoming and easy to talk to. Unfortunately, the prescription for cream that Nurse Ingham prescribed wasn't available at any of the three chemists I went to, I was told that it hadn't been available for some time and wouldn't be available for at least two weeks. I trailed back to Helme Chase and asked someone in the Pharmacy if I could get a new prescription. She passed an urgent message on to Nurse Ingham but couldn't give any assurance about when I might get the new one. I'm still waiting at noon today (the next day) and realise that I probably now won't get the prescription until Monday. Surely it must be possible for someone else to sign a new prescription under these circumstances. My prescription wasn't urgent. Would it have made any difference if it had been urgent?

Suggested improvements
To have a facility for someone else to sign a new prescription when the one originally prescribed isn't obtainable and when the person signing the first prescription is not there. A possible delay of three days really isn't good enough
