I needed a very urgent appointment so went to the surgery at opening time as I didn’t want to end up taking ages to get through by telephone and there be the possibility that I wouldn’t get one. Dr Ellis was as good as ever and did blood tests and the results were back by mid afternoon.

Suggested improvements
It would be great if you had an ultrasound at the surgery as my next option if I got worse was to go to a very over stretched A & E department.

I did not have to make an appointment as this was arranged as part of a ongoing monitoring so I cannot comment on how easily it would be to get one! Jean, who has taken my last three blood tests is excellent. “Sharp scratch”, didn’t feel a thing.

Suggested improvements
I feel that there is a preoccupation with ‘life prolongation’ rather than ‘quality of life’. This is a general NHS comment and not exclusive to The Glebe. I refuse to answer the next question as to how ‘I Identify’. This is not relevant to the objectives of a National Health Service and all such interference should be ceased.

I was expecting a call about my pain relief medication and how I might be able to cope with the overwhelming pain I anticipate towards my next big pain relief procedure at St Thomas’ hospital in four months time. This didn’t happen and the doctor (who was very pleasant, and told me her name, once, but I’m now not sure) was only able to repeat the limited knowledge responses I’ve heard before, and couldn’t offer any solution to the difficult situation I’m in. I’m still, and now urgently needing more support, please, with appropriate pain relief for my trapped sciatic nerve as well as arthritis and a Bakers cyst (in the same side), and arthritic degeneration of my lower discs and facet joints which depends upon procedures in London AND pain relief management and support from my GP.

Suggested improvements
Really listen to my situation, please, and find a reasonable and workable solution, something which is knowledgeable about pain relief for Extreme Chronic Pain which now seems to be my life, and I have felt abandoned in by this surgery for the last eleven months.

I requested a phone call appt as I had a sore throat and knew I needed antibiotics I have one which usually works for me Dr Sherwell was reluctant to prescribe he wanted me to have penicillin, I expressed I wanted amoxicillin he prescribed it, today I ended up at Brighton hospital having a quinsy lanced I’m now on phenoxymethylpenicillin, Could it of been avoided had I of listened to the guy with considerable more medical knowledge than me, who knows but next time I’ll do as he advises, thank you

Suggested improvements
Nothing I received a great service, I always prefer face to face but the phone option was my preference this time as I just thought it was a sore throat, my quinsy was not obvious till today, a and e sent me home on Saturday saying it’s not a quinsy let the antibiotics work, today at a and e, steroids fluids painkillers and penicillin based antibiotic before being sent to Brighton to get it lanced, I have just been given a machine for mild sleep apnoea, last night I wore it even whilst awake as I felt the pressure made it easier for me to breath, it registered 8 events per hour, registrations since last Monday were less than 1 per hour, thank god I had it on, thank you for your service
