I needed a very urgent appointment so went to the surgery at opening time as I didn’t want to end up taking ages to get through by telephone and there be the possibility that I wouldn’t get one.
Dr Ellis was as good as ever and did blood tests and the results were back by mid afternoon.
I did not have to make an appointment as this was arranged as part of a ongoing monitoring so I cannot comment on how easily it would be to get one!
Jean, who has taken my last three blood tests is excellent. “Sharp scratch”, didn’t feel a thing.
Not comfortable disclosing my illness with a non medical person in order to get an appointment
I was expecting a call about my pain relief medication and how I might be able to cope with the overwhelming pain I anticipate towards my next big pain relief procedure at St Thomas’ hospital in four months time. This didn’t happen and the doctor (who was very pleasant, and told me her name, once, but I’m now not sure) was only able to repeat the limited knowledge responses I’ve heard before, and couldn’t offer any solution to the difficult situation I’m in. I’m still, and now urgently needing more support, please, with appropriate pain relief for my trapped sciatic nerve as well as arthritis and a Bakers cyst (in the same side), and arthritic degeneration of my lower discs and facet joints which depends upon procedures in London AND pain relief management and support from my GP.
