I saw the most caring and thoughtful Sue White, Nursing Team Leader at the very impressive Patford House Surgery, where in 5 years of care I cannot fault its services. I am 82 and have been in chronic body- wide idiopathic neuropathic pain for 20 years a very difficult condition for which relief measures are unknown and in which no research has been done because of its extreme rarity but its nearest illness is Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome, though mine Is body-wide. The Practice under Doctor Harris and now under Dr Bowen is by far the best I have had among many elsewhere In the past - a variable past bunch! A year ago I had a totally brilliant aorta stent operation in Bristol and I have had two prostate operations under the wonderful Dr Beck at Swindon who keeps a careful eye on a small prostate cancer. Sue White typifies the amazing dedication of the Patford House Surgery despite the massive pressures throughout the NHS that that come form trying to work an unworkable funding system, Nothing is too much trouble for her and her experience and good humour made my routine visit into a cheerfully helpful session that made me feel privileged to be an NHS patient but almost as if I were a member of her family. I was able to share health difficulties and stress issues with her freely, in really helpful way. I would say much the same of all the Patford staff from doctors through to Receptionists. “Routine” Annual Reviews for the elderly are precious in a great caring surgery like this. Far from routine treatment!!!
