The doctor took great care and also h ad time for me. The staff are all really helpful and go the extra mile.
I sent an official letter of complaint in to North Brink Surgery around 17-20th Dec 14, I have not received any reply or acknowledgement that the complaint has been looked into.
this complaint was that my wife came into the surgery in clear pain and was crying because of it, she was told there was no appointments that day at first then given an appointment for around 4 hours later, there was blatant disregard to my wife's health and wellbeing.
I rang to complain, only to be told by the receptionist that it was not a walk in surgery. Surely under the NHS you are to treat emergencies and not fob people off who are in clear pain with that they need to make an appointment, that was the closest wife thought she could get immediate help from so called health professionals
No appointment available so had to be seen by a nurse in a tiny room. The nurse was busy trying to wedge the door OPEN while asking me how she can help. I said I would wait until she finished rather than talk to her back she said no carry on I am listening I don't like to be shut in! Disgraceful!!
It is extremely frustrating trying to get an appointment with the doctor you want to see, after 3 weeks of trying to book online, morning and evening, and phoning for an appointment I eventually went to the surgery when it opened at 8am to get the appointment. This is the reason why many people go straight to A&E.
I hate having to resort to going to the doctors at the best of times and may have a serious problem as a result of having to wait that extra time.
I know the receptionist and call operators are only doing the job they have been asked to do but I do not want to discuss personal medical information with them and if I know I need to see a doctor I do not want to be palmed off to a nurse practitioner. If I know I don't have a serious problem I am more than happy to see one of these people, but when you know you have something seriously wrong why should you have to wait so long or get passed from one person to another and have all the extra prodding about and probing questions.
As I live in a village out of town, it was useful to be able to get an appointment within 15 minutes. It is always difficult to get through on the phone in the mornings and this causes frustration - its better to come in - in person.
