I requested a PSA test and had to do the online questionnaire through Henfield Medical centre This was the text I received below . I haven’t a clue if a test has been booked and not impressed with the simple process to make an appointment- Dear Mr Cole, I was due to call you today. However, after reviewing your medical notes, I don't have to speak to you in person. I will therefore cancel the telephone appointment. Have a lovely afternoon. The problem with the system… I prefer to see my doctor rather then an initial phone call and have explain to the person on the phone. The reason for my call, what’s happened to confidential… doctor and patient?

I usually have excellent service from receptionist through to clinician. I am able to get appointments when I have needed them.

Michael was completely ignorant of the potential for infection post operatively. His exact words were ‘Laurence is past the window for infection’. Laurence went on to have his infection confirmed as Staph. The consultant has advised Staph is common post operations that have involved the plaiting of metal to bone. Both microbiology and orthopaedics exclaimed their surprise at his lack of knowledge and failure to refer Laurence regarding infection. Michael should have a more thorough knowledge of Staph. Perhaps, if he was more open and approachable he may have considered getting a second opinion or consulted a doctor. However, he is snappy with patients and gives the impression no one can question him. It is my opinion that Michael is placing the practices patients at significant risk through unacceptable ignorance.

Fiona was very helpful friendly and knowledgeable, she put me at ease after my recent type 2 diabetes diagnosis and made useful recommendations for the best way forward. We talked about diet and exercise moving forward, and I was furnished with helpful literature to digest. To summarise their were no problems at the surgery, and I was seen promptly despite being a bit early to the appointment.

All good, I was a bit early for the appointment and expected to wait 30 mins, but I was seen promptly. All efficient and really no improvement required in my opinion.
