The practitioner visited my 94 year old mother in her home. He examined her but was a bit brusque and short at times. He prescribed some anaesthetic type patches for her agonising pain in her hip.on Saturday I went to the pharmacy to pick them up to be told Michael hadn’t put the prescription through and now the medical centre was shut. The pharmacist advised calling 111 to get a new prescription. 5 hours later after speaking to 4/5 different advisors I was told a doctor would ring us. They didn’t ring until 1.30pm next day. My mother ended up in A&E with the pain! A very stressful episode in our lives. Fortunately A&E were amazing!

Suggested improvements
Put the prescription through as was expected. That’s all we wanted. If the patches hadn’t worked at least we knew we had tried. My mother may well not have ended up waiting hours and hours in A&E. I wouldn’t have experienced being pushed from pillar to post with advisors on 111.
