I attended a blood test, and the phlebotomist was very good. She took my advice to use right arm instead the left because my veins are sometimes easier to access on the right arm. The phlebotomist also gave me good advice on the children's needle (black) that should be used for small veins like mine. I am 67 years old. Another very good advice, which I hadn't thought of before, was that one should drink water and not coffee prior to blood test, because coffee makes them contract. People always tell you to drink plenty, but the advice should be drink plenty of water!
Suggested improvements
I cannot think of a thing you could have done better on this appointment.
Perhaps receptionists should advice "drink plenty of water, not coffee" prior to a blood test.
