Fern House Surgery is set in what I assume was previously a large domestic residence so it is restrained in the layout of the building and can hardly be called 'state of the art' and clinical, but this does add a homely feel to the surroundings. As in common with many GP surgeries these days, it can be a problem getting a convenient appointment, the telephone lines are always very busy and the system of booking appointments 48 hrs in advance (except in emergencies) can be quite frustrating if you are trying to fit an appointment in with work comittments. This is especially difficult if you wish to see a particular doctor. I also find the telecom system that calls patients to their appointments very difficult to hear, I am often in the situation where all of us waiting look round and wonder what was just said.
