I had a blood test this morning. As my veins are not good (normally I have to go to the William Harvey) I expected many attempts to obtain my blood. No such problem as the nurse was highly skilled and succeeded first time.
The practice has got too big and has lost the 'family feeling' that it had under Dr Lister. It is frustratingly difficult to get an appointment - impossible, in fact, without going through the annoying triage system. It feels like genuine patients in need are being penalised because of those who waste doctors' time.
It is impossible to get an appointment even when you have received a request by text from the surgery to make an appointment with the Doctor after having had bloods done and they need to see you , the receptionist that are NOT medically trained make the descion that its not important for you to be seen by the Doctor even when you stress to them it was a request by the Doctor , still they dont listen . an appointment then made for 3 weeks later , i really hope that nothing happens by then because your receptionist and surgery will be reported to the medical council.
Although you have to wait for someone to phone back to triage you, it always happens and both my husband and I are always seen quickly. We rarely have to wait long in the waiting room.
Had a recent blood test carried by Kerry. I'm not the greatest patient where blood is concerned however I find Kerry is always able to carry out the treatment in a friendly, relaxing yet very professional manner. She is always very clear as to the purpose of the tests and will offer constructive advice if required.
Thank you
I like the fact that the surgery carries out routine blood tests rather than having to visit the William Harvey Hospital- much more personal.
