14th April 2023

I had an annual health check with nurse 13th April. Through her I was able to get an emergency appointment with Dr Saunders later that day. Dr Saunders was very helpful and prescribed steroids and antibiotics to treat my breathlessness. I had tried unsuccessfully to get a GP appointment even though I pointed out how breathless I was. I was told to ring 111 which I did without success. I feel lucky that I had the health check on 13th to enable me to see a doctor that day.

Suggested improvements
As there were no available appointments on 12th April, (bearing in mind I started ringing from 7.55am and held on in a queue of over 30) the fact that I had told the receptionist my difficulty in breathing, I feel she should have advised me to ring the surgery later that day to see if there were any appointments. The only advice I was given was to ring 111!!
