27th April 2023

The receptionist was awful, uncaring and disinterested. She should not be in a position of dealing with people in pain and distress. The clinician was lovely helpful and considerate but didn’t have correct information about referrals onwards which caused me huge distress in sorting out.

Suggested improvements
Please terminate the employment of your very unhelpful and quite frankly rude receptionist and ensure your professional staff gives correct and informative information about ongoing referrals. I only found out I had to chase my x ray referral because my wife had a text from a gp at the practice to tell her to chase her own x ray referral with Horsham x ray department. This can be proved as my wife still has the text. Here we are on 27th April and I’m told by your staff that other staff members have no knowledge of this, yet my wife was referred in December, 5 months ago, where is the communication between staff?. My referral sat on dr Hirds desk as he was away, I wasn’t told he was away or that he had to sign it off, or any of this would be cause for a delay or that the person I saw couldn’t directly refer. Please be honest and lower expectations; when you say you’ll refer please explain the process and associated time frames. Please also train receptionists to be empathetic and caring not aggressive and unhelpful as I have experienced. It is not acceptable.
