I have phoned and been on hold for 29 minutes and 5th in queue. Then cut off and had to start all over again !!

Suggested improvements
Show on website when and which doctors are on duty on a calendar. This would allow non-urgent appointments for long term chronic conditions to be seen by same doctor (as reasonably as allows) giving patient continuity of care. Instead of Receptionist triaging all calls, relaying them to doctor, doctor getting back to receptionist, receptionist then talking to patient, why not all doctors triage for half hour at 8:30 to prioritise appointments and cut out back and forth between receptionist and Dr. Please note receptionist do an amazing difficult job with professionalism , this is not a criticism of them or Dr s, just a suggestion to consider??

When I called the answer machine explained the new procedures. I followed the advice and was eventually told to call the surgery back and make an appointment. It took about 15 minutes to get through, The receptionist then again explained the new procedure, I told her I had followed the answer machine instructions and was directed back to phone the surgery. I was then asked a few questions about the reason for my call and then asked to hold. About 5 minutes later I was given an appointment for 2.15 pm the same day, by 5pm following on from the consolation I had a text from the pharmacy to say my prescription was ready to collect. Brilliant system! Brilliant service! Brilliant people! ……. and a lot less pain for me. Thank you. This new appointment approach seems a great way forward.

Took 6 weeks to for a pre arranged appointment, not an emergency so didn’t want to take a daily appointment.

I have usually been able to get an appointment when I needed but my latest was a blood test at the surgeries request.

Suggested improvements
It would be helpful if you could request appointments to deal with things like chiropodist problems and osteoarthritis directly with the relevant practitioner without being referred by your general Doctor who does not deal with these concerns.
