Your service is superb. Your reception staff are kind and courteous. Your doctors are patient, engaged and listen carefully. Thank you for doing what you do! I have had a surprise change in my health recently and I can’t find anything wrong with either of your surgeries.

We have no problems with Avisford medical group in either getting an appointment or in the treatment we receive, staff are always pleasant, informative & helpful..We do appreciate just how busy our GP’s are especially with all the new housing but despite various health conditions we only make appointments when either told to or a real need.. We have been the same for the 50/60 years we have been patients of the practice.

Suggested improvements
Nothing …the only issue with Yapton surgery can be the parking ( disabled) but even that is usually ok now the pharmacy has moved….for flu annual boosters we book at Middleton as parking is easier.

It was easy to get the flu jab appointment as l walked to the surgery, but hopeless trying to make appointments over the phone. Ive waited over 40mins to get through and got nowhere. If l need prescriptions or bloodtests l walk there and have no problems.

Phoning to make an appointment is a terrible experience and it rarely takes less than 45 minutes to an hour to get through. Given that most calls at 08:30 are for people looking to make an 'on the day' appointment, which when you get through takes less than a minute, I can only deduce that there are not enough people to handle the morning rush. If you are going to implement a system that drives an uplift in calls at a given time you need to man the phones accordingly during those times. The estimated wait time from the automated system is never accurate. It feels like the surgery tries to make it as difficult as possible to get an appointment. Even during the day, after the morning rush there can be long waits to talk to someone on the phone and it is often quicker to drive to the surgery and speak to someone.

Suggested improvements
More staff to answer the phones at the peak 08:30 rush and also consider making appointments available to book online. I know this is not easy and have been told before that patients need qualifying but there are plenty of systems out there that can support this.
