I did not visit the surgery. Receptionist called me re appointment. Blood pressure taken by nurse 10 April 24. Now 156/88 Pulse 71 Richard.

Think an online booking system would help as waiting an hour or more on the phone only to find appointments all gone is extremely frustrating.

I was seen by a paramedic (Marion I think ) who was extremely thorough and caring. Was extremely impressed.

I recently had no problem getting an appointment to see a GP for that very day but did have about 16 people in front of me in the queue after ringing at 8.20am. It can take a long time to wait to speak to someone (an anxious time if one needs to be seen that day) and I have not always managed to get an appointment the same day. Getting an appointment to see a GP who one has previously seen, for consistency, is not easy either. Receptionist was polite and helpful.

I would prefer it if one was ALSO able to visit the surgery to book an appointment. It would also be helpful, depending on the circumstances, to be able to ring at any time of the day to arrange an appointment especially if one needs to see a specific GP who you have previously seen for a specific issue. I do realise that some appointment slots need to be retained for 'on the day'.
