I had a lovely experience yesterday. It was with a wellbeing appointment which I didn’t know even existed but I’m glad it does. Katie was very supportive and just sat and listened without telling me how I was over reacting was just what I needed. I feel really supported and do genuinely feel everyone at the surgery is there to help. I do feel booking an appointment is really really hard work. Lines open at 8:30am and I’m a parent of four children so am generally on the school run at that time. If I ring at 9am it takes ages to get through and appointments are then gone. However if I ring at 8:30 I can put it on loud speaker, do my whole school run, get home and I’m lucky if Iv been on hold for 30/40 mins and if they answer it’s 50/50 if they have appointments or now. I really really do appreciated how many people ring and need to see a doctor but surely there could be another way as this can be very frustrating and patients put off ringing. If I’m honest I have put off the last two weeks ringing to book my children’s flu jabs in which I know is wrong but it’s finding 40 mins in the day to ring and wait. The surgery is amazing, staff are lovely, I just find the whole booking appointments a shame as if I am honest a lot of people put off ringing because the wait time xx
