It has been difficult to reach the surgery by telephone - the treatment by the receptionists - one in particular - has been absolutely appalling, being rude, unhelpful, difficult and patronising. The last practice doctor I saw was clearly uninterested, did not listen to me and I felt to be dismissive and uninterested. This gave rise to serious concerns as a doctor from a previous practice missed the signs of bowel cancer, which later resulted in my having to have a bowel resection. The treatment received from Avisford has been so poor I have now taken out private health insurance - as a pensioner, something I can ill afford. Unfortunately, it does not cover existing conditions - in my case type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure - so I have to continue with the NHS for these particular issues. This is unfortunate as getting an appointment to see a doctor is extremely difficult and the treatment received from the receptionists have stopped me trying to get an appointment in a very long time.

Suggested improvements
Address the rude, unhelpful, difficult and patronising behaviour shown by at least one of the receptionists. For the doctors - one in particular - to actually listen and not give the feeling of being disinterested.
