I have not had side affects that relate to these tablets but you can get the odd thing like from the rare ones like dry mouth but usually not drinking enough water is always the answer to that and if you talk a lot that might cause a dry mouth or tongue then water helps when you get a crocky voice and I always prefer to open up the tablets to swallow them each morning has the shell upsets my stomach and I find eating late at night does not help with acid and having two a day makes me feel better has well. and the only problem with taking the tablet lose is you might get that horrible taste in your mouth sometimes from the tablet not very often though . so I thoroughly recommend these .

I was prescribed this antibiotic post-operatively as a result of 'widespread infection' around the site of the operation, hence it being a necessary preventive measure, which I understood. The dosage was for one tablet of 400mg three times a day for 7 days and though the known gastric side effects were mild, I was left feeling very drained and promptly fell victim to an obstinate Urinary Tract Infection, necessitating 2 further courses of the relevant antibiotic (Nitrofurantoin)

Profile

Omeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Omeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
