Who wants to have acid re-flux, heartburn and indigestion after meals and to watch what foods to eat and to have in every pocket, drawer and cupboard antacid tablets. I was prescribed Omeprazole tablets after discovering I had a hiatus hernia. The excess acid production stopped. The medication works brilliantly as I can't remember the last time I took indigestion tablets.

It prevents more discomfort while on alot of painkillers so found this very helpful

This medication is effective but if some test are required then this medication needs to be stopped. For example any iendoscopy

Omeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Omeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
