Without my current prescription of omeprazol I would definitely be in agony and would be on a very basic diet of alkaline foods. There are many generic brands of the drug and I personally found that 'nexium', (which is in tablet form) worked best for me. I had been on a non branded capsule containing powder, and I had experienced regular joint pains and through time that it wasn't dealing with my excess acid. Overall I have to say that I'm very satisfied with the results, the treatment and care that the NHS have made available. All of what I endured, was down to bad eating habits and I would strongly recommend that people sit and take time to eat slowly and let your food digest and don't go munching after 7pm as the food is in your digestive system overnight. Your digestive system is where you absorb all the vital nutrition and enzymes into your body giving you a healthy life balance.

Profile

Omeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Omeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
