when I first went to see Mr Shah I was in so much pain on my left side I could hardly walk he reassured me that he could perform surgery and I had a complete hip replacement A year later I had the same pain on my right side and he did another complete hip replacement. Thanks to Mr Shah with his skill and caring manner I can walk again pain free So therefore he has given me my life back and I have returned to work so there is no words Strong enough to express my appreciation! What a wonderful man Mr Ken Mackay

Recently I had an unexpected stay in St Thomas's Hospital following an incident that resulted in me fracturing my hip; after being admitted the Thursday evening I had my hip replacement operation first thing the next morning. My stay in St Thomas's with Mr. Shah as my consultant my operation went extremely well and was discharged after two days of super care and now nearly three weeks after my operation, my recovery has been rapid. I'm now walking indoors unaided and only use crutches outdoors to alert fellow pedestrians that I require space.

I went to see Mr Shah regarding pain in my left hip, from my first visit he was brilliant he was very caring and supportive and understood the pain that i was going through. It was agreed after a few visits that I would undergo a full left hip replacement, this operation was carried out in June 2016, Mr Shah and his team were brilliant and have changed my life, i am now pain free, back at work and walking around with ease. Thank you all for everything and for looking after me after the operation. A special thank you to Wendy, Mr Shah medical Secretary, whilst waiting for my operation i discovered that my son who is 31 had cancer, i had to cancel a couple of appointments Wendy was always very understanding and supportive.

Dr Shah saw me in April 2016 and told me i needed a total right hip replacement , he was kind , understanding told me all simply what would happen and possible outcomes etc in terminology i understood im blonde and theatrical !! i felt safe and at ease and wanted my life back at 51 i was feeling 71 and in pain ...my surgery date came through for july 13th so my wait wasnt too long ..I saw Dr Shah early in the morning of the surgery 7.30 am as i checked into pre surgical lounges all of that was great and i didnt feel anxious at all ..and aging just before i went under .. the surgery was fine easy back on the ward at 2 pm and standing up at 4 pm and a visit from Dr Shah after is long day of operations at 6 pm ish and he makes yoiu feel that you are his only patient , he is caring and v v kind ..i saw him again before i went home and on my post op appointment last week where he explained many things to me . The whole team at Guys were fantastic under Dr Shah ...not so good when i got home chasing up district nurses to attend my wound and then after i was discharged by phone by them ... Also i was sent home with no anti emb stockings as in the whole of Guys Hosp they couldnt find any to fit me which i found to be unbelievable ... I think follow up and communication betweens dept s on after care would be a good suggestion and more stockings !! There a re a few dark days on the recovery path which i would have liked to have known about ,, bruising and swelling on day 12 which is normal apparently .but i wasnt prepared at all for that swelling BUT BUT BUT ...all worth it as I am better pain free and all thanks to wonderful Dr Shah and the orths team cant thank him and them enough ...my life is worth living again and I feel great

Mr Shah was my surgeon for a total hip replacement at Guys Hospital London. I absolutely cannot praise him and his team highly enough. On first meeting he was kind, sympathetic to my problem and totally professional. I felt immediately at ease and had full confidence that my operation would be successful in his hands.
