Mr Shah clearly explained the possible options before my surgery (to repair my ankle, broken in three places), so I knew what to expect beforehand. He answered my questions and put my mind at rest. At my six week review, he was able to show me the before and after xrays to explain my healing. He gave me clear instructions on how to improve my continued healing, gave me clear expectations for the future of my ankle, and patiently answered my questions to reassure me. Mr Shah is friendly and professional, which is reassuring as well as compassionate. For even greater care, I would have liked a few minutes with a doctor during my two week check up; my xray was checked, so was obviously fine, and my new cast was put on, but I didn't realise the doctors wouldn't need to see me until after they had left to go to Guy's. It wasn't a problem, and the plaster technician was able to answer the few questions I had at that stage. I can't thank the St Thomas' Hospital staff enough for their care.
