I FOUND THIS EXPERIENCE A SURPRISINGLY POSITIVE ONE. MY NEEDS WERE MET AT EVERY STAGE WITH KINDNESS AND UNDERSTANDING. THANKS TO MR PEARCE AND ALL CONCERNED WITH PRE AND AFTER CARE. I AM NOW MOBILE AND FREE FROM HIP JOINT PAIN AND DISCOMFORT.
I was especially impressed by the way that Mr Simon Pearce listened to my concerns, explained the hip replacement procedure and at discharge showed me on the X Ray what had been achieved.
I am currently being re-built by Dr Pearce with the need for two new hips and two new knees....we are half way through that process. I have / am recovering really well and have received excellent pre and post care from Dr Pearce. He is thoughtful and inquisitive as to how you are feeling as a patient, addressing any concerns you may have as you go through the whole process. I actually couldn't recommend him as a physician more highly.
Had 2 consultations with Mr Simon Pearce at The Conquest Hospital before he performed my hip replacement surgery at The Horder Centre. I couldn’t be more pleased with the result and have just been signed off 7 weeks later.
Under normal circumstances I am a reserved person, from the outset Mr Pearce gave me the confidence to actively discuss/decide the way forward with my operations for bi-lateral hip replacement, when I had to switch Consultants as a NHS patient pre-operation. He is warm and approachable which is so important to me, and allowed me to be at ease totally. He explained in a professional but easily understood way the procedure, and because of an abnormality I had since birth but was unaware of, the way he would proceed. Post op, he visited to keep you updated on how the op went and to see how you were recovering. I was followed up 6 weeks post op, again Mr Pearce was warm and friendly and genuinely concerned as to my welfare. I was pleased to report that I was pain free, I had healed beautifully, and that I felt 15 years younger. I can’t thank Mr Pearce enough, thanks to him and our NHS, I have a new lease of life.
