My first appointment with Mr Ellis was over Zoom which I have to say went perfectly fine and I didn't feel in anyway disadvantaged by not being able to see him in his clinic due to Covid. My follow-up appointment was last week where he clearly explained the results from the MRI, he couldn't have explained them any clearer and I came away from the appointment a happy lady as surgery is not required at this stage. His manner is wonderfully patient friendly and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him as the knee doctor. I will definitely have any future surgery under his care.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Covid 19 has affected all of us in different ways. For me ensuring that each patient has the best possible experience whilst minimising contact has been a challenge. I am so pleased that you feel it has worked for you. With kind regards Simon Ellis

Mr Ellis has a wonderful calming manner. He is so informative, compassionate and most importantly is honest and realistic in care available but gives hope of differing treatments. Years of horrendous knee pain completely ruined my quality of life. Previous failed Ops didn’t work, yet temporary pain relief was administered to help with the potential of another Op to resolve. This Op has been done and I’m currently in recovery. The treatment I received was first class. Updated and made to feel at ease every step of the way until discharged. So very impressed. Let’s hope in a few weeks the recovery will be the complete success which so far I’m confident of.

I am 69 years old and had been an athlete since i was 11 years old x As time has gone by i have experienced pain and trouble with my knees. Eventually in 2019 i desperately needed an operation on my left knee, was referred to Mr Ellis and saw him quite quickly. It was agreed that i needed a complete knee replacement and that took place on the 9th July 2019. Mr Ellis explained everything to me that was going to happen and i had every faith in his judgement and knowledge. The replacement was a complete success and healing took place and i returned to my keep fit and swimming routine after about 2 months. A little while later i was to have my right knee replaced also as this had been giving me a lot of trouble. My right knee was operated on on the 15th January 2020. All went well with the operation for a while but unfortunately there was a problem. Mr Ellis has seen me, taken stock of the situation and is at this time preparing with me to have corrective treatment to rectify the matter at hand. I feel very confident and secure in the knowledge that he is going to do everything in his power to remedy the situation. I have every faith in his expertise and ability. He is an excellent surgeon.

I suffered for years with arthritis pain which resulted in my lower leg being over 17 Degrees out of vertical . I was in lots of pain and walking any distance or down stairs was very difficult.Mr Ellis decided to do a total knee replacement and straighten my leg back to vertical. It is now nearly 5 months since my surgery and I am very pleased to say I am no longer in pain I am walking about 4 miles each day, I have returned to all of my hobbies.Walking up stairs is now normal coming down my knee is still a bit stiff but Mr Ellis has assured me this is usual and will return normal within the next few months. Considering due to Covid there has been no physio visits only telephone follow up, no gym, no swimming, my recovery has been remarkable. Huge thanks to Mr Ellis and his team, the outcome of my surgery is exactly as he predicted, I am most grateful. Barry Rodgers
