Hi, I had my left knee replaced on 11 March 2020 at Spire Alexandra. Simon Ellis is the surgeon who operated on me. Nothing but excellence is how I describe my experience under his care and also the hospital. Everything worked tick-tock as he had predicted and told me. Post operative care was excellent too. I noticed that even in comparison to last year when I had my right knee replaced so many improvements have taken place. For example, last year I had only 17 staples on my knee and it took a lot longer for the surface wound to heal but this year I had 33 and the closeness of staples to each other meant that it had healed perfectly by the time they were removed in 2 weeks! Another example is that last year I was asked to wear the embolism stockings which were quite a nightmare for my husband to peel off and put it on me everyday. This year, I noticed that the stockings were no longer a requirement - excellent step forward. The third improvement I noticed was the design of the Cryocuff. Smaller but better fabric/material and so much more efficient. I also had very few bruises after the operation. Once again thanks to the dexterity, nimble work of Simon's magic fingers. His team of anesthetists and nurses were also supremely efficient, kind and always willing to listen. In particular I had Zach, the senior nurse who inserted the catheter in the post operative period so well that I had no urinary tract infection symptoms this year. I am most grateful to Simon and his team for their excellent healing touches and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a knee replacements. Dr Padma Anagol
