I was very anxious about the removal of a BCC from the tip of my nose as it was in a very awkward place. Even though I am 58 I am still vain so the thought of a large scar was very upsetting. From the moment I met Mr Banwell, I felt reassured by his calm, professional manner. He advised me that there were 2 procedures for me to consider one being a skin graft after the removal of the BCC using skin from my neck, which would never completely match in colour or the second option was to cut from across the tip of my nose up in between my eyebrows and stretch the skin across my nose tip! He was completely honest that it would be gruesome but it would be the best option. I had complete faith in him and decided to take his advice. Mr Banwell was right it was gruesome and I was horrified how bad it looked. One week later I had the stitches out and it looked a lot better! 4 weeks to the day of the operation it looks absolutely AMAZING. Mr Banwell is unbelievable. The scar is across my nose and up my nose line, in between my eyebrows and you honestly can’t see it! You have to look really closely. It is better than anything I could have imagined. I’m so incredibly lucky, everything was removed and I have been left with the smallest of scars. I can’t thank Mr Banwell enough. He truly is a brilliant surgeon!
