Absolutely brilliant unit and staff.
I was referred to The Cancer Clinic at St Richard Hospital by my GP as I was
experiencing sudden tenderness in my right breast along with a lump I thought I had detected - my GP appointment was on the Wednesday and I saw Mr Parmar 9.20 on the Friday!!! I found him very professional, he was extremely thorough and explained everything very carefully and just to be certain, suggested an ultrasound in addition to a mammogram. He and his colleague were able to totally reassure me that my mammogram and ultrasound were totally normal and there was no cause for concern whatsoever. I left mightily relieved!!
The whole experience of attending the breast clinic was positive, I was seen on time and I felt completely at ease meeting and being examined by Mr Parmar. Following a thorough examination and discussion I was sent to have a mammogram and scan then returned to Mr Parmar for the results which he delivered in a professional and kind way. I was impressed with Mr Parmar and the team working with him. Thank you N H S !
Very polite, professional, with warmth.
On the whole this doctor was friendly but he made comments about my weight which were insensitive. He told me I was 'skin and bone' and then a jokey 'Do you eat?.I just wonder what would happen if he said to an overweight person, 'You're a bit porky? Do you never stop eating?' Just please be aware of these comments. Even if they are in jest. I had an eating disorder in my early 20s and these comments hurt.
