Mr Janakan was my surgeon for removal of a tumour in my bowel. I was fortunate enough to be given a cancellation appointment which meant very short notice. He called me in advance to go through concerns I had raised with the macmillan nurse. The surgery went well, with no issues and he called my contact after to let them know I was ok. He has been an excellent communicator throughout, visiting me in hospital a few days later and then going through everything quite clearly in my post op consultation. I feel well looked after by Mr Janakan and the team at Royal Sussex and feel they have made my experience easier than expected.

Mr Janakan, is a very good surgeon, who had obviously read through my extensive medical file then clearly explained and managed my stoma reversal operation. I found him to be very professional whilst having a caring approachable nature. (My wife was very grateful that he actually contacted her direct after the operation) During my "post operation" consultation Mr Janakan listened to our questions /concerns then explained how things would progress making suggestions to help things along. Although I would never want to undergo another operation I am very pleased I had Mr Janakan. I received the Best Care I could have asked for. Many Thanks

My 23 year old son came in as an emergency patient and to have a son in a critical condition is devastating enough for a family but Dr Janakan came as an angel and saved my sons life.He sat down with us and took the time to explain the surgery and what the future plan was nothing is too little for him even if it is 5am in the morning.He is calm and very reassuring. Mr Janakan is a very good surgeon who explains what his intentions are for the operation. Having just had my post operative appointment, everything was explained in easily understood language, and recommendations set out clearly .
