Seen after a skiing accident with fractured vertebrae. Mr Spink was not only reassuring with a great bedside manner throughout but he was also very professional with first class advice and treatment. Mr Spink made time and put himself out to meet us on a bank holiday to ensure a new brace was fitted prior to some travel plans I had book prior to my injury. Would highly recommend him as a neurosurgeon.

I recently had L3/4 decompression surgery for a prolasped disc that had made it impossible for me to walk more than 100m. 5 weeks after surgery I was able to walk 4 miles. I cannot thank Mr Spink enough as the surgery has changed my life. I would highly recommend Mr Spink to anyone who requires spine surgery.

Mr Spink is an excellent consultant. He explains everything in full and asks if you have any questions. I had a couple of OP appointments previously trying physio and also a nerve root block. He gave me the option of surgery as we had tried the other options with no success. I'm so glad I took the surgical route. Mr Spink explained what they found during surgery. I have also had my follow up with him and he is genuinely pleased for you when you have good results. Many thanks Mr Spink.

From the beginning Mr. Spink was friendly and explained everything that was happening in my body and what he could do about it. He explained that there were other options I could try and why. He spoke to me in a way that I understood everything about what he would do during the operation. He came to reassure me before and after my operation. This man is a brilliant surgeon and I cannot thank him enough for removing the terrible pain that I was in. In the future, if I ever need surgery again, I would not hesitate to contact Mr. Spink.

In 2009 Mr Spink operated on my C7 prolapsed disc which had caused pain and numbness in both arms. I had been suffering this for many years and had progressively worsened until Mr Spink performed the operation. I have not had any pain since that time and It was a life changing experience. In recent months I had developed Sciatica in both legs which an MRI scan revealed I had Stenosis which had caused damage to my sciatic nerves. I asked the GP for a referral to Mr Spink who had impressed me in 2009. The GP advised they could not guarantee which Neuro Surgeon I would see and that the present waiting time for an operation was approximately 12 months. I decided I would go privately and see Mr Spink for whom I have a great deal of respect for his skill and experience. He performed a Laminectomy on 3 of my lumber joints and has greatly improved my condition. For anyone experiencing cervical or lumber problems I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Spink as the first choice as probably the best in his specialism. The only thing I would add is that I was not impressed with the short stay in Hull Spire hospital. I would choose a different hospital if I had my time again. This is no reflection on the services of Mr Spink. Mr Michael Davies York
