I was referred to Mr. Pereira by a Consulatant in Sports & Exercise Medicine regarding a lower back injury to decide on the best course of action. Whilst Mr. Pereira's diagnosis was a more detailed assessment of what I had already been told he offered me the option of self recovery through physiotherapy and careful exercise. As surgical intervention has its risks I was pleased to know this option was viable. He carefully pointed out to me my chances of recovery via different methods and the risks involved. After about 6 months Mr. Pereira arranged for a repeat MRI scan, which was done on the same machine, and a detailed analysis of the changes over that time. This proved excellent advice as my recovery has meant that I have now no limitations and have avoided an operation. Many thanks to Mr. Pereira for great care.

Mr Pereira chose, with caution and excellent sense the correct operation for me, when the alternative that he had actually opened me up for was first on the cards. He made an on the spot decision, despite having all the bits and bobs ready for the planned operation, that saved me from pain, discomfort and essentially a failure of an operation. He then kept me under his care, seeing me until the time was right for the correct operation. This he conducted, having fully explained everything so that I was in full possession of the facts, before and after. he saw me the day after the operation, explaining he thought it had gone very well and he was hopeful of a good result. The operation, on my lower spine, worked. For the fist time in years I am free from crippling back pain. I saw Mr Pereira for my follow up appointment and he really did seem genuinely pleased it had worked. And, to make sure, he ordered further x rays, keeping me under his charge until we are fully sure things had worked. I felt assured and comforted by his professionalism and manner. He has, without doubt, the most reassuring manner of the all the many surgeons I have had to deal with. I trust him, as proven by his sharp decision to abort the planned operation when he judged things were not right at the very late stage of peering into me! I thoroughly recommend this neurosurgeon. I few months ago I noticed a lump on the middle of my back near the spine that was starting to ache. I was lucky enough to have met Mr Pereira a few months earlier regarding another issue with my lower back so I didn’t even have to hesitate to make contact with him again after the fantastic service I had previously received. Mr Pereira arranged an ultrasound which showed a fatty tissue build up (lipoma) which we discussed the options of leaving it or having it removed. I decided to leave it for a few weeks in the hope it would go away or ease, but a couple of months later it was still there, aching more and feeling bigger so I decided to go ahead and have it removed. As the procedure required sedation I was a little apprehensive but Mr Pereira and all the staff at the London Clinic (secretary, anaesthetist, nurses) made the whole process as smooth and stress free as possible. Just two weeks after the procedure I have no more back ache and the wound is very clean and tidy. I am so impressed with Mr Pereira’s professional service before, during and after service. It is so hard to meet an amazing consultant that you have full trust and faith in. I would fully recommend Mr Pereira and for going the extra mile with patient care and interest. Thank you so much.

I had a growing skull osteoid osteoma/osteosarcoma which lately caused me daily headaches whilst under pressure at work with high levels of stress made things only worse. The initial investigation begin as standard however I felt desperate for a change. Luckily I have been offered a list of doctors and instinctively I approached the one and only Dr.Erlick Pereira. From this moment a true blessing come into my life! The investigation was highly professional and with a speed of wind. I never trusted more being foreigner here for 8 years!! After diagnosis and action plan advised Mr.Pereira recommended to check for a 2nd opinion for my case. Without a desire I agreed. I went back to long queues and waiting lists which took me months and some holiday allowance spent, all this for a 2 min chat.
