Dr Kandikattu is alovely man, a perfect gentleman. A doctor that both listens and cares about his patients. I have attended clinics and recived pain injections by Dr Kandikattu on multiple occasions and he has never hurt me once ! For those who have this type of treatment booked, you really have no cause to worry, you could not be in more safe and caring hands. Throughout the treatment Dr Kandikattu is constantly asking if you are feeling any pain, or how you are feeling. He has a very relaxing mannor and his team of professionals are first class. Its all about you and your comfort. During my treatment, I could not wish for more. 10/10

Most pleasant and attentive Doctor I’ve ever met. Very reassuring as speaks to you constantly throughout the procedure checking for pain or discomfort brilliant. Just a suggestion if you were to call your patients by there First name it is more friendly and puts the patient at ease through out. I would highly recommend Dr Subhash Kandikattu, excellent

I cannot rate Dr Kandikattu highly enough. I had spinal injections today, he was kind, reassuring, professional & caring. He came to see me before the procedure and ran through everything. Everything was explained to me as each step happened, constantly talking to me and checking that I was comfortable, there was no rush and I felt that he had as much time as needed, slowing down for local anaesthetic to work etc... Mr Kandikattu then came to see me in recovery and also made sure I was getting my follow up appointment booked before leaving the hospital. I was recommended him by a family member and would also recommend him to anyone considering trying this pain relief. I am yet to be able to review the effects of the procedure

I highly recommend Dr Kandikattu. I am so glad I was referred to him. Right from the consultation to the procedure he listened, explained everything in detail and most of all showed how much he cares for his patients. I felt at ease with him. During the procedure he checked on me all the time to see if I was in any discomfort or pain and talked to me through out. I felt safe in his hands.

Profile

Dr Kandikattu is one of the few pain medicine consultants in East Anglia to have gained certification in the Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP). He uses the biopsychosocial model of pain to offer modern assessment and management of his patients’ pain at the Peterborough City & Stamford Hospital, Fitzwilliam and Boston West and Clementine Churchill Hospitals.

“Whilst doing my pain training at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital and Hillingdon Hospital, I was inspired by the pioneers in pain management there and I became keen to learn new techniques.”

“I am pleased to now be able to tutor students studying for their MSc in Regional Anaesthetics at the University of East Anglia and I hope that I can instil some of desire to embrace new and modern pain management techniques in these trainees.”

Dr Kandikattu offers comprehensive pain management to people suffering from chronic pain from their head to their toes including: cancer, musculoskeletal and spinal (neck, chest, lower back, sciatica), neuropathic, complex regional pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic headaches and persistent post-surgical pain.

He performs a full range of pain interventions including epidurals, facet and sacroiliac joint injections, radiofrequency denervations, most of which are image-guided using x-ray or ultrasound guidance. He is also an expert in treating acute pain and inpatient pain management.

He offers outpatient appointments and inpatient care for pain management intervention at the Fitzwilliam and Boston West Hospitals. Patients struggling with chronic post-operative pain may need further pain management to relieve their discomfort and Dr Kandikattu can offer a back-up service for them too.

“I use this holistic model of approach for all my patients, taking all the biological, psychological and, social factors into account as each can impact on a patient’s pain. It’s important to treat patients as a whole.” said Dr Kandikattu.
