Dr Vijay took 25 minutes out of his busy day speak to me on the phone yesterday and explain why I had not yet been invited to have a Corona virus jab. I appreciated his candour and the respect he showed to me. The previous day I had rung the practice and spoke to someone with a very poor grasp of the facts. However, I acknowledge that rather than ignoring my request to have the practice manager call me back the next day, she acted on it and in fact it was a GP who rang me back. I was very pleasantly surprised. My only "note" to Dr Vijay is that at times, it was quite hard to follow what he was saying as he spoke very quickly; it probably took him longer to tell me everything because I had to ask him to repeat some of it! But all in all, a very positive encounter. Many thanks Zenobia Tata PS: Ironically, though the Doctor was careful to manage my expectations about the time it could take for me to receive an invitation to make an appointment, a letter from the NHS arrived the next day- it was dated one week earlier. So, you never know....

Response from Dr Shanker Vijayadeva

I agree with you that I can speak too quickly at times, especially on this occasion when I was the on-call doctor and I was trying to frantically explain the complexity of the different national and local services and systems for providing Covid-19 vaccine. I will certainly bear this in mind and try to slow down a bit! I am glad that you did get an invitation so quickly after our conversation. Thank you for the time to leave me your feedback - it is really appreciated.
