Dr Stumpfle introduced himself before my operation and he made inquiries about my past medical history. He gave me an appropriate pre-anaesthetic examination and then put me to sleep very comfortably. I had no after effects of the anaesthetic. He was present when I woke up and he re-examined me the following day to check that I was well. His attitude was kind and reassuring throughout and, in so far as it is possible to do so, I quite enjoyed the experience.
