I visited the surgery in March 2019 to request follow up tests after over a year of suffering with RA symptoms, and hypothyroidism. My symptoms had progressed considerably, even though the last set of tests done six months prior had come out negative (raising the suspicion of seronegative RA). I saw Dr Plant, who was sitting with a trainee doc who also attended the session. Dr. Plant used the better part of the almost 30 minute session disbelieving me, dismissing all my symptoms and pain, and suggesting "it was all in my head". The advice she gave me was to "focus away from the pain", instead of prescribing a series of follow up tests. I felt deeply humiliated and patronised, made much worse by the fact that I heard both Dr. Plant and the trainee burst out laughing the moment I left the room. Absolutely hideous behaviour from someone who's supposed to be a leading GP awarded with an OBE. I chose to follow up on my treatment privately after this, as it was clear to me that I would not be taken seriously at this surgery. Appalling.
