Dr Joe McGilligan is a brilliant doctor. I went along to my son's appointment last Tuesday; he needed minor surgery on his toe. As always, Dr Joe was calm and reassuring, without hurry and took the time to explain what he was going to do. How does he do it! There must be endless pressures on him as an NHS doctor at a busy surgery - I'm sure he had a long list of other patients to see that same afternoon besides my son - but you would never know of the stresses he faces when it's your appointment. Barely 10 steps after leaving the surgery, my son started to feel faint and dizzy. I took him back. The sharp eyed receptionist had already seen what the problem was and ushered us through to a side room where he could recover. He was seen by Dr Aslett (another lovely doctor!) and we were given as much time as we needed before my son felt well enough to journey home. I have never had a bad experience at this surgery - the staff are excellent. This time visiting I wasn't the patient but I have been on several occasions. Many, many years ago - before I found Greystone Surgery - I used to dread going to the doctor. This is not the case any more; I always feel listened to and treated with warmth and compassion. Dr Joe has, it seems, an encyclopedic knowledge on many subjects and I trust him completely, Greystone House has fantastic patient care and I feel lucky that my family and I are patients there.
