My surgery visit was due to knee pain and Dr. McGilligan was able to administer a cortisone injection there and then to provide almost immediate, short term relief. We then discussed options for longer term relief; reviewed an MRI scan of the joint and it was agreed that the problem wasn’t going to get better so a replacement would be needed - sooner rather than later whilst my mid 70’s body was still able to cope with it. As the NHS waiting list can be notoriously long we also discussed a plan for medium term relief of the pain to allow me to continue to maintain an active lifestyle. So grateful for the empathy and understanding.
