I have known Dr Kwan for a few years and during that time I have had cause to contact him for help on a number of occasions. His advice and treatments have always solved my problems and the manner in which he guides me through whatever problem I need solving is always incredibly helpful. Last year my wife suffered a second stroke which led to us first meeting Dr Kwan at Charring Cross Hospital. During the two days prior to meeting him, we were totally confused and unable to understand the advice and diagnosis of the NHS team; we were completely baffled as to the prognosis and were deeply worried for my wife’s future and medical plan. On first meeting Dr Kwan in the stroke ward, we were greatly impressed by his professionalism, clear, polite, and articulate manner, and his ability to clearly describe what had happened, why it had happened and the courses of action to take. Subsequent appointments with him were at the Cleveland Clinic, where we were treated with the most outstanding care and superb attention to detail. We have never met a doctor with such a first-class doctor-patient relationship and the ability to instil absolute trust and confidence in his patients. His medical knowledge is without doubt of the highest standards, but it is Dr Kwan’s personal approach to diagnosis and his kind and caring manner which makes him unequivocally the best doctor my wife and I have met. After my wife’s stroke had been dealt with, we have used our private medical insurance for other medical issues, and Dr Kwan has consistently demonstrated the same extremely high standards of medical care and is consistently kind, caring, compassionate and ensures that before his patient leaves his consulting room, they are 100% confident of the diagnosis provided and the medical plan to lead to recovery. He is a highly patient consultant who ensures his patient and family members understand the complex medical issues and he can tactfully provide advice on lifestyle changes and improvements needed to increase fitness levels to encourage recovery and reduce the risk of further medical episodes. My wife and I have no hesitation in absolutely recommending Joseph Kwan as a Doctor and Consultant. A most kind, warm hearted and deeply caring man, he is an absolute star!

My partner suffered three strokes back in April of 22 and it was and awfully complicated case. Unfortunately we felt the outpatient care offered by our local NHS trust was not sufficient. After weeks of numerous calls, emails etc feeling we were getting no where with the NHS we opted to explore the option of private medical care to get a prognosis and ongoing support. We found Dr Kwan and instantly from our very first conversation we knew he would be the perfect consultant. In the short conversation we had he already offered so many words of advice. It honestly felt as though we had a weight taken of our shoulders. Within two weeks of our initial chat we had an appointment with Dr Kwan at The Cleveland Clinic London so that he could do a thorough assessment of my partner and help us plan for things going forward. During this appointment he went into so much detail and you could tell he had a genuine interest in helping us going forward. No doctor we have seen or spoken to prior to our appointment with Dr Kwan even compares. His knowledge, understanding, eduction and experience are second to none and we have full trust in his ability to care for my partner. In such a small amount of time since our visit Dr Kwan has done so so much to help us, more than anyone has ever been able to offer previously. I really do believe for a short time by partner had given up hope, and couldn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel. Since our visit my partner seems to have found a new sense of hope and determination gong forward with his recovery, and for that I will be eternally grateful to Dr Kwan. It’s hard to put into words just how great full we are, but we genuinely can’t thank him enough for his support and are so relieved to finally have found some we can trust to help my partner with his ongoing recovery.

I suffered a stroke and had the good fortune of being treated by Dr Kwan at Charring Cross hospital. In such scary times it is a blessing to be treated and cared for by a Doctor who is not only a renowned expert in their field but is also someone you can connect with as a human being. After the initial emergency care at Charring Cross hospital my rehabilitation process was also managed by Dr Kwan as one of his private patients and everyone was amazed at the speed and extent of my recovery. So much so that I returned back to a normal life in the matter of a few months. I would without a doubt recommend Dr Kwan to anyone who is seeking top level of treatment and care post a stroke.
