Last year my wife suffered a second stroke which led to us first meeting Dr Kwan at Charring Cross Hospital. During the two days prior to meeting him, we were totally confused and unable to understand the advice and diagnosis of the NHS team; we were completely baffled as to the prognosis and were deeply worried for my wife’s future and medical plan. On first meeting Dr Kwan in the stroke ward, we were greatly impressed by his professionalism, clear, polite, and articulate manner, and his ability to clearly describe what had happened, why it had happened and the courses of action to take. Subsequent appointments with him were at the Cleveland Clinic, where we were treated with the most outstanding care and superb attention to detail. We have never met a doctor with such a first-class doctor-patient relationship and the ability to instil absolute trust and confidence in his patients. His medical knowledge is without doubt of the highest standards, but it is Dr Kwan’s personal approach to diagnosis and his kind and caring manner which makes him unequivocally the best doctor my wife and I have met. After my wife’s stroke had been dealt with, we have used our private medical insurance for other medical issues, and Dr Kwan has consistently demonstrated the same extremely high standards of medical care and is consistently kind, caring, compassionate and ensures that before his patient leaves his consulting room, they are 100% confident of the diagnosis provided and the medical plan to lead to recovery. He is a highly patient consultant who ensures his patient and family members understand the complex medical issues and he can tactfully provide advice on lifestyle changes and improvements needed to increase fitness levels to encourage recovery and reduce the risk of further medical episodes. My wife and I have no hesitation in absolutely recommending Joseph Kwan as a Doctor and Consultant. A most kind, warm hearted and deeply caring man, he is an absolute star!
