After suffering complications as my anesthetic was being administered Dr. Jones provide exemplary care and great support to both me and my wife over the following 24 hours. When we attempted the procedure again he went to great lengths to ensure that he had checked all possibles causes, liaising with other consultants to check my full history and current medical condition. His whole approach was very reassuring. The operation was successfully completed with no complications, in no large part due to Dr Jones thoroughness and diligence.

Dr Jones was my anaesthetist during a recent knee replacement operation which was carried out under epidural type process. His preop explanation was comprehensive and thorough putting me completely at ease. My postop recovery was swift and comfortable and Dr Jones encouraged me to get considerable movement with the new knee despite the pain which my surgeon had briefed me would be present. The whole experience would be difficult to improve on and Dr Jones could not have been more helpful and encouraging.

I recently underwent a total knee replacement with Hywel as my anesthetist. Prior to the operation Hywel explained exactly what anesthetic would be provided and my options and what to expect from a pain perspective post op and how we will manage it. During my operation I was awake and Hywel explained everything that was going on and kept making sure I was ok. Post op he came and saw me and explained the medication and what to excpect during my recovery. I have to say he was very reassuring during the hole process and post op even providing his email address to allow me to contact him if I had any questions. It will be two weeks since my op in a couple of days and although the first two/three days were quite intense from a pain perspective I was expecting that but by taking my medication as prescribed it was and is fully manageable. I am now able to bend my leg past 90% and able to move around comfortably on my crutches and occasionally on one crutch. I can not praise Hywel and advise highly enough he is very knowledgeable, his attention to detail is exemplary and he puts his patient care first. Only thing i would add is that anyone who has Hywel looking after them is in very safe hands
