I was admitted to Springfield Hospital to undergo Parathyroid surgery by Mr Simon Smith. Dr Hywel Jones was my anaesthetist. Undergoing surgery is quite scary. Dr Jones was amazing, he talked me through the process and put me at total ease. He was making me laugh as he injected me with his 'special Gin and Tonic' and before I knew it I was awake and the surgery was over. Dr Jones and his team are amazing. Thank you so much for looking after me and being so kind and caring.

I recently had a total knee replacement at Springfield Hospital and Dr. Jones was my anaesthetist. At my pre-op appointment I found his relaxed, friendly manner very reassuring and never felt rushed as he went through my medical history, explained the prcedure I was to have and answered my questions. On the day the procedure went very smoothly and again he was very kind and caring. He visited me on both of my post- operative mornings. I was discharged on the third day, a Saturday, and in the evening I had a query about my medication. I contacted Dr. Jones and he responded immediately and could not have been more helpful. I feel I was very lucky to be in the care of Dr. Jones. Marilyn Archer

Thankyou for looking after me Dr Hywell Jones. You made my experience that much better, and really believed that you understood my experience with chronic pain - many proffessionals dont, and that can cause me great upset and anxiety when I feel I have to justify my need for pain medication - so thankyou for that :) God bless you Kind regards Donna Barber

Dr Hywel Jones was very helpful, knowledgeable and approachable. He ran through everything with me before going to theatre and visited me a few times after my surgery to check everything was OK.

Dr Hywel Jones came and met me to run through my pre-operative assessment and information, prior to my tonsillectomy. He was kind, attentive and very informative. He made me felt calm and took away any anxieties I had prior to my surgery and even checked in on me a few times during recovery.
