Dr Hywel Jones was incredibly friendly and welcoming, he had a great sense of humour which really put me at ease prior to my operation. He was also very honest and clear in communicating to me what would happen during and after my surgery. He was great at answering all of my questions, and didn’t make me feel anxious or embarrassed at all. The information sheet he gave me was very informative and will be very useful to have to hand post-surgery! I’ve never had surgery before so was incredibly anxious coming into hospital, but Hywel put my mind at ease and I felt very well informed and looked after. I woke up feeling as comfortable as I could be post surgery and Hywel came to check on me afterwards remaining friendly and professional. In my opinion, anyone who can make you laugh and feel relaxed/comfortable when you are actually quite scared about having your tonsils sliced out is very good at their job!

I found Mr Hywel Jones to be an absolute gentleman whose knowledge and obvious competency instilled complete confidence in me at our first meeting. He doesn't pull his punches and warned me of the degrees of pain I would experience post-op but also totally reassured me about the anaesthesia I would receive and it's manner of administration pre-op and pain control post-op. I have no hesitation in recommending anyone into his care and wish him continued success for the future.

Mr Jones was my anaesthetist 3 days ago for a bilateral breast reduction. I was extremely pleased with the care I received from him. I was so nervous to undergo general anaesthetic, but after I had a conversation with him the morning of my op, I then felt confident and ready to go. His demeanour was so calming and he really took the time to talk to me, explain what he was going to do and why. Also his skills as an anaesthetist were amazing. For my surgery he had to wake me up on the table to put on my post operative bra. I had no trouble after surgery with coming round, I wasn’t drowsy, nauseous or in pain! He really did an excellent job and he looked after me so well.

Dr Hywel Jones came over as a warm friendly doctor, I have only had chance to talk to him for short periods of time, first during a pre-op. consultation and then on the day of the knee replacement surgery when he put me at ease. He also visited me later that and the next day to find out how I was. His jovial attitude was appreciated. Casually talking to other members of staff at the hospital he is obviously well liked.

At every stage of my treatment, I felt secure and well cared for. The doctor made time to discuss my treatment fully, explaining each stage, and was incredibly reassuring to a nervous patient like me. This continued after my surgery, the doctor checking on me regularly in recovery, ensuring the ward staff were fully informed and visiting me again that evening and the next morning before I was discharged. Previous problems I have had with general anaesthetic did not occur this time because of the time spent listening to me and the doctor's expertise. Absolutely delighted with the care I received
