In March 2023 I received a total right hip replacement at Shepton Mallet hospital under the NHS. Mr Arnaout and his team provided excellent care. The hospital was clean, the staff efficient and attentive. My surgery under was under epidural which should hold no fear for anyone. Mr Arnaout is very approachable and reassured me throughout the operation. My recovery went smoothly and after years of extreme discomfort I am now pain free and have a new lease of life. As a retired Nurse I have worked with many surgeons and consider Mr Arnaout to be highly skilled and compassionate and would not hesitate to recommend him.

I had a new knee fitted by Mr Arnaout,in April 2022 and it was so successful l am back riding my bike. I will say that the teamwork at Shepton Mallet is amazing..Absolutely no complaints at all.THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Understandably I was extremely anxious and nervous before the operation, but I was informed at every stage of what would happen and all staff were brilliant. As I had waited so long for this operation my main complaint was not only with the wait but lack of contact beforehand, I had to rely on my GP to request updates on when I would be admitted. Once admitted I was told my operation would take place at 10.30 but I didn’t actually go down to theatre until after 2.00 which meant several hours had passed since my last meal, I felt quite weak. I didn’t feel any pain during the operation, and all went well. I didn’t get much sleep after the operation as it was necessary to have a leg contraption for the circulation which was noisy, but I understand this was important. The instruction for getting back on my feet and using crutches for walking and stairs was very good. Follow up phone calls from the hospital were supportive and I would always recommend that patients use Shepton Mallet Hospital.

I could not have asked for a better surgeon and the operation was a great success for me. Before it, I had been in a lot of mostly muscular pain and had none at all since. A big thank you to the surgeon.

Mr. Firas Arnaout and his team made a daunting procedure very easy for this patient. The recovery from surgery has been very straightforward, his advice and the physiotherapy instructions provided are making the new hip seamless. I am deeply grateful for my regained mobility.
