I have nothing but praise for the care and attention given at RSCH when I was fitted with a pacemaker yesterday. In spite of it being a very busy & stressful Friday (he had persevered for 2 hours with a tricky case), Dr Leatham took care & time to explain my medical condition & the need for the procedure. During it, he was calm & reassuring, explaining what he was doing & chatting to the theatre staff & me.
Slight soreness afterwards, but no pain during the procedure, the only discomfort being the local anaesthetic.
I would say to anyone reading this who may be about to have a pacemaker fitted by Dr Edward & his team that they should have no worries or cares about it.

Thanks for the positive feedback! Everything we do as part of a team - and I am very proud of them all - so will take much pleasure in passing on your kind words! Our aim is to make the catheter laboratory or 'cath lab' a happy place so that every patient we look after has a good memory of what might otherwise be a terrifying experience!
