My consultation with Dr Sherman took place over the telephone owing to Covid-19. He undertook a thorough question based review to understand my symptoms and determine the next steps. This was a very positive start. However, that’s where the positive experience stopped. It took three weeks to organise a blood test for me and a further two weeks before a second telephone conversation took place to review those results. Further, he was very late for both telephone appointments, which caused problems with my own meeting schedule at work. Given I paid for private care, overall I was very dissatisfied with the level of service and care received. I wanted to take pressure off the NHS and expedite my care, however, this fell woefully short. The entire experience was further hindered by the fact that he outsources his administration and secretarial support to a third party provider. This firm operates a premium rate number only and were also extremely slow in replying to emails and organising the follow up appointments, informing me that he was not available for appointments for three weeks owing to him being a GP and being on call. If Dr Sherman doesn’t have sufficient capacity to adequately manage private patients, I’d suggest that he doesn’t accept them. So, overall a very disappointing experience. I wouldn’t use him again, nor recommend him. Such a shame as it started off so well.
